One of the largest and most vocal concerns in our State and communities is the continued increase in property taxes. I am extremely disappointed in the inability to promote more relief based on As you can see below, there were 21 bills introduced.

One of the largest and most vocal concerns in our State and communities is the continued increase in property taxes. I am extremely disappointed in the inability to promote more relief based on As you can see below, there were 21 bills introduced.

Despite efforts by others, we were able to get into law, HB0099 - Property tax refund program.Additionally, SJ0003 - Property tax residential property class was signed so that you, the voter can vote at the next general election to amendment to the Constitution that create a fourth class of property by making residential property a separate class from the all other property class. This fourth class will enable further property tax relief that is essential to our communities.

We are not done as Legislatures in the continuation of getting immediate property tax relief to you. I will continue to fight on behalf of our residents to drive relief.

Please see below a copy of a flyer that articulates HB0099 - Property tax relief program that expands an existing, state-funded tax refund program by allowing people with slightly higher income levels, up to 125 percent of median household income for your county or state, whichever is highest. It also offers a slightly larger refund, as long as it’s no more than 75 percent of the prior year’s property tax.

Please recognize to participate in this relief, your application must be submitted by June 5, 2023.
